Hello farm friends,

We are very excited to announce the official launch of the Vaughnshire Cow Share!  What is the Vaughnshire Cow Share? It is the only legal way for us to provide you with great tasting healthy raw milk here in the great State of Tennessee.

In Tennessee you cannot get raw milk unless you own the cow.  It is illegal to even give away raw milk.  We thought for a while we could sell milk as pet food, but have since learned that unless we have a commercial feed license we cannot even do that without putting our farm at risk with the Milk Nazis.

What is a cow share? 

So what are we going to do? We are going to sell you our cows!  A herd share program is where you purchase a part ownership in a cow herd and are then able to enjoy the great milk the herd produces.

Vaughnshire Farm will care for your herd and all you do is pick up your great tasting fresh healthy milk.  Once you own a share of the herd you simply pay a monthly boarding fee that covers the costs for the care of the herd and labor associated with milking the cow and straining, cooling, and storing the milk.

What does it cost?

To purchase a share in the herd, which entitles you to one(1) gallon of milk each week, the cost is a onetime fee of $75 and a monthly boarding fee of $22.  The $75 is your onetime purchase of your share of the herd and the $22 covers the twice daily labor involved in caring for the cows, milking them, straining and storing the milk.

How do I get a share?

Simply contact us here at Vaughnshire Farm.  We have the short legal contract that transfers legal ownership of your share of the cow to you and the arrangement for us to milk and care for the animal.  We can also arrange a convenient pickup time for you to pick up your milk when you come to visit your cows.
